Europe Trip (Sep 2010)

Sasha and I took a trip to Europe in September, where we visited London, Paris, and two smaller towns in France - St. Emilion and Bordeaux. We got to explore London with Sasha's grandma (aka Gramms), did tons of walking touring around the city, saw some great theatre, visited the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in France, lots of wine tasting in St. Emilion, and of course ate lots of great food all over France.

  • After arriving in London, we headed to Leicester Square and spent some time at the National Gallery.
  • There was a Liberty celebration going on in Leicester Square.
  • Big Ben can be seen in the distance from Leicester Square.
  • I saw this puppet as we were walking along Leicester Square and loved the colors!
  • After wandering around Leicester Square, we headed to Queen's theater to see Les Miserables. I liked the view looking up this building, which was on the way to Queen's Theatre.
  • We were able to get tickets to see Les Miserables, which was playing at Queen's Theatre in London. Les Mis was fantastic!
  • Right accross from the theatre, there was this colorful Dragon or some type of animal.
  • In the lobby of Queen's Theatre was this really neat glass chandelier made of suspended glass globes.
  • Our seats for Les Mis were at the mezanine level near the lady in the teal shirt. It was a really cozy theatre.
  • Looking down the Underground at Charing Cross.
  • Our next stop after Les Mis was to Camden Market, which was one of my favorite parts of the trip. We ran into some street performers who started dancing and playing music. It was pretty cool!
  • We ran into some street performers ouside of Camden Market, who broke out in dancing and music - accordion, violin, and all...
  • Looks like a great Halloween costume... just a few months early.
  • Lining the streets near Camden Market were shops with all sorts of 3D storefronts.

  • Sasha and Gramms posing for a picture near Camden Locks.
  • Looking down the streat near Camden Lock.
  • There was all sorts of good ethnic food throughout Camden Market.
  • Lots of horses scattered around Camden Market. This one takes some time to sniff Sasha's hair.
  • My favorite store - by far - was Cyberdog. A giant metal robot greets you at the interest and when you enter, it's like being at a rave. Ok, I've never been to a rave, but if I had it would be like this. They wouldn't allow pictures inside, so you'll just have to go see it for yourself.
