Europe Trip (Sep 2010)

Sasha and I took a trip to Europe in September, where we visited London, Paris, and two smaller towns in France - St. Emilion and Bordeaux. We got to explore London with Sasha's grandma (aka Gramms), did tons of walking touring around the city, saw some great theatre, visited the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in France, lots of wine tasting in St. Emilion, and of course ate lots of great food all over France.

Our last stop for the day was a private wine tasting at one of the local wine stores. We had a great overview of the wines of the region and tastings of some awesome wines. On the left is Caroline, who was our tour guide.

  • On our way out of St. Emilion, we walked to the train station and got some great views of the vineyards and country-side.

  • Our last stop was a day in Bordeaux, France. Walking around town we passed by this church.
  • My favorite spot in Bordeaux was Miroir d´eau, a long reflecting pool in front of Place de la Bourse. It was beautiful and made a great photo opportunity.

  • Almost everything was closed on Sunday, but we found a street market by the water where we got some good pastries and grapes. Sasha showing off the strawberry tart that we searched all over Europe for.
  • Our last night we spent in France was back in Paris and we made the most of it by taking a trip up the Eiffel Tower just as night was falling. We got great views of the city!
